I have traveled quite a bit in my time. In the past few years, I've been to Venezuela, Brazil, Spain, England, Portugal, China, Taiwan and Greece, as well as all over the U.S. Most of it was for work. By far, my favorite place was Brazil. The people, the food, the culture the language...there is nothing that I didn't like while I was there for 3.5 months. Except, maybe, the traffic in Sao Paulo. Brazil is also the place where I learned to speak Portuguese...but I am losing it because I don't get to practice too much :( Brazil is where I discovered Samba. One night, a friend of mine in Rio de Janeiro took me to the Samba school, Villa Isabel. It was one of the best experiences in my life. It was such a diverse crowd. Men, women, s as young as 8 or 9 to grandmas...white, black, mixtas...all dancing their heart outs. After that, Samba will always have a place in my heart. Speaking of places in my heart, Samba has to share with House music. Anyone who knows soulful House music knows how theutic it can be. Mixing the pounding drums of Samba (or Batucada) or the sexy vibe of Bossa Nova with soulful House music is the ultimate musical experience. Defected is by far my favorite label
