Webcam usage in chat is now banned! 4/17/2022
I hate to do this, but it needs to happen.
For those of you who know how to cam properly, I truly am sorry.
Down the road I may revisit this rule.
You will be asked to turn it off. If you refuse, you will be banned.
Once again, I am sorry that it has to be this way.
Another case of a few bad apples ruining the entire barrel.

There are several reasons for it. The biggest of all being the number of complaints I receive about them. Another being that MOST of those who were on cam in the room, never contributed to chatting 1 single bit. They are there in an attempt to draw viewers, nothing else. They can do that elsewhere on the site. I have even noticed that the cams start to show up and the conversations in chat stop. Next thing you know, I am getting complaints right after members leave the chatroom.
Then there is the obvious, it's a chatroom, not a camroom.
Astral always wanted good conversations happening in chat, and that too is my goal. |

If it is "a few bad apples" then why not remove the apples from the barrel instead of breaking the barrel?
If people are breaking the rules then ban them, not punish everyone else.

The bad apples create a new name and are right back in there doing as they were in the first place. As I have said, I don't want to do this, but feel it has to happen. |

Have you reported them for ban evasion? That is a reportable offense and is grounds to get booted from the site completely. |

lilshy....for me the issue is burden of proof. While I know that is what many are doing, I cant prove that. That is why I have not been able to move that up the chain. |

Personally, when I ban someone from a room I mod I take screencaps of their profile and albums. I have a tracking spreadsheet and all the screencaps in a folder for future reference. In your case, I'd screencap their cam as well.
Many of the people that have multiple accts are lazy or creatures of habit. If they cam they might cam from the same spot all the time. Hell you may even be able to ID them from their cock, lmao!

I agree with lilshy, I cam occasionally but always engage in chat in any room I attend, I do understand what you are saying about the phishers though.. but why punish all for the actions of a few, if the rule is they must chat, and choose not too, then politely ask to leave or ban them.. I respect you decision but feel like lilshy.. only punish the guilty not all., just my two cents for what it’s worth

The people doing that ( the problem people that is ) seem to have an endless list of handles. You ban one and they pull yet another out and go back to behaving the exact same way. |

Have the new rules chased everyone away? I don't even see anyone in the chat room at times now....
