Stepping Away Is Good For The Soul  Recently, after learning of my long time good friend’s third cancer diagnosis, I took some time to step back and step away from here. I needed the break to reflect, refresh and reenergize. Here's what I found for myself:  Each day is a blessing. Each day is an opportunity to start afresh. Each day gives you a different feeling/perspective and the chance to build yourself even better.  Life's hard knocks have taught me how to survive and how to stand up for myself. Others should not mistake my good-natured demeanour for being a pushover.  Being loud and obnoxious has never been my style. So staying silent is the best option. It quickly quiets those looking to stir up trouble when none exists and they realize they can't bait me into a meaningless debate. |

My friend began radiation treatments this week. She is taking one day at a time and I am keeping her in my daily thoughts and prayers. [image]

Just to sit and think about the world and all of us in it.. The good, the bad, the ugly and the ones we should ignore.. The best justice for those that are like a sign post ( they know all) is to ignore them, let them fester in their own rage.. it makes them even more agitated.. Over the years I have learned you just cant have any meaningful connection or communication with a "sign". as they have all their intelligence cast in stone. you can never win, you can't even get their real attention. Live to your best, have the knowledge that the sun will shine even when it is raining and there will be a tomorrow... Well said I'm sorry about your friend. Cancer does suck I lost my father to it, my mom, and uncle. I can feel your pain do you ever get over it no but it does get easier as time goes by. I have reached out to her and she knows I am available whenever she is up to it. I know someone who is gravely ill does not want to repeat their story over and over again...it wears you down. Her birthday is coming up so I am in search of 'just the right card' Thank you for kind thoughts.

It seems that for a variety of reasons, I am not the only one finding myself stepping away from here more frequently. Is it the time of year? Other distractions/priorities? The shine has come off?
